Obituary of Patrick Dennis Sheridan

SHERIDAN, Patrick Dennis – Peacefully with his wife by his side, Patrick Sheridan died at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Friday, July 17, 2020 at the age of 80.  Beloved husband of Rebecca “Becky” (nee Roecker).  Loving father of Ted Sheridan & his wife Amy, New York and Shannon Schwab, Ridgeway.  Cherished grandfather of Noah, Rohan, Jennifer, Sarah & her partner Peter and Christine.  Proud great grandfather of Isla.  Dear brother of Luann Sheridan-Seymour & her husband John, Michigan.  Also survived by nieces Lauren and Leeann and nephews Denny and Brian & his wife Sandy and their daughter Alex.  Predeceased by his parents Laurence & Elizabeth Sheridan and brother Laurence (Agnes) and his niece Colleen.

 

Patrick studied at Capitol University, University of Colorado and Wayne State. He taught English and Literature at Detroit Lutheran schools and then moved to Sarnia in 1967, at the opening of Lambton College to teach the same for 29 years.

 

Patrick loved and cherished his wife Becky of 58 years and his family.  He especially enjoyed time spent at the family cottage built by his own hands. Patrick enjoyed riding his motorcycle and the long trips he would take. He wrote poetry and published a small book titled “Any Light Will Do.” Other cherished pastimes that Patrick enjoyed were times spent with friends, camping, travelling, music, and literature of all kinds. His spirit will be remembered.  

 

Cremation has taken place.  Due to current COVID 19 restrictions a private invitation only memorial will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.  A live stream link will be available for those who would like to be a part of the https://youtu.be/AiAq8o5oVWM Masks are mandatory.
