Obituary of Lisa Catherine Hamel Johnson
“A gentle reminder that we’re never far apart
My spirit will live on forever there within your heart”
It is with truly broken hearts that we announce after a long and courageous battle that Lisa Hamel Johnson started her heavenly journey on Friday, June 5, 2020 at home. Her beloved wife and best friend Lori Hamel Johnson was at her side. Lisa was the very proud and loving mom of Noah.
She was a cherished daughter of Herb & Dody Hamel. She was truly loved by Lee & Wendy (sister) Cormie, Brian & Kim (sister) Tereschuk and Janet (sister in law) Berube.
Lisa had a family circle of love that extended far and wide with her nieces and nephews. Mathew, Erin, Isla and Adelyn Cormie. Michael, Kathleen, Thomas and Abigail Cormie. Amy Tereschuk. Peter Tereschuk. Dawne, Eric, Sebastien and Cedric Beevis-Johnson. And countless other family and friends.
Lisa loved an evening of listening to her vinyl records and a glass of cold Sauvignon Blanc. And as the tunes started to groove so did the family living room dance party. In spring she was the green thumb of the family converting the kitchen into a greenhouse for a starter vegetable garden and flowers. An afternoon sitting in her yard watching the cardinals and sparrows was a calming regular activity for her. Lisa loved to travel and her greatest joy was to complete her bucket list trip in an RV to the Canadian East Coast with Lori and Noah.
Due to the recent COVID 19 restrictions cremation has taken place and a private Celebration of Life will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre Ltd. Lori and Noah would like to invite family and friends to join them for a live streaming of the celebration of life service on Wednesday, June 10th at 7 p.m. Please go to the McKenzie & Blundy Facebook page to join the virtual circle of love as we celebrate Lisa’s life.
