Obituary of Jean Bennett

BENNETT, Lorna Jean (nee Grant) – Peacefully with her family by her side, Jean Bennett died at Bluewater Health, on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at the age of 96.  Beloved wife of the late Robert Bennett.  Loving mother of the late Peter Bennett and the late Joanne Dawkins.  Cherished grandmother of Patrick Bennett & his wife Jolene, Jeremy Bennett (Joanne), Sean Dawkins and Christie Dawkins. Proud great-grandma B of Nathan, Carter and Issabella Bennett and Ethan, Cori, Rayne, Layland, Ava and Emmett. Dear sister of Ethel Eagles (Don), Marjorie Morse all of NS. Sister-in-law of Eunice Thistle, NS. Predeceased by her parents John & Annabelle Grant, son and her brothers Robert  & Frank Grant. 

Jean was a devoted Catholic and a parishioner of St. Benedict’s Church.  She was a longtime member of the Catholic Women’s League.  Jean was a registered nurse for many years. She loved to walk along the waterfront.  Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave her great joy. Jean was a very giving person and loved to volunteer her time to many different organizations always putting others before herself.

 Due to the current COVID 19 restrictions a private service and interment will take place at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
