Obituary of Trijntje Margaret Lalonde

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Margaret Lalonde (Stewart, nee van der Perk) announces her passing on Sunday, May 3rd at the age of 89. Margaret is predeceased by husbands Stanley Stewart and Ernest Lalonde, parents Paulus and Petronella van der Perk, sisters Paula Lawton and Florence Stokker, and stepson Rob Lalonde. She is survived by her sister Muriel (Mike) Meloche, sons Paul and Clay Stewart, daughter Anne (Paul) Langille, and grandchildren Trish (Dave) Simon; Josh, Sarah, Scott (Nichole) and Clay Stewart; and Matthew (Bobbi-Jo), Janine, Aaron (Karli) and Jeremy Langille. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews Sean (Julie) Lukon; Marnie and Mike (Sonja) Meloche; Mark Lawton; Alex (Nick) Turvill; Yvonne (Glenn) Simmonds; Brian, Greg and Ron (Lil) Stokker; and step-children Mike and Heather Lalonde. Similarly, Margaret will be fondly remembered by extended family in the Netherlands and the cherished Stewart family of the Bruce Peninsula. She will also be deeply missed by many step-grandchildren, great grandchildren, great nieces and nephews, and dear friends including Alexia Gladdy, Clara Berg and Marilyn Shaw. Through the years, Margaret worked for Sears, Dr. Gladdy and Dr. Keith. After her retirement and for many years she volunteered at the St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary and Bibles for Missions. Margaret was truly a ray of light for all who were lucky enough to know her and to know her unparalleled zest for life which will forever be missed.The family would like to thank Dr. Lilly and the staff of St. Joseph's Hospice for their excellent care and compassion. In addition, special thanks to Dr. Uppal and the girls in the office for taking such good care of Margaret for the last 30 years. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be celebrated at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to The McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE (519-344-3131).
