Obituary of Ann Marie Oakes
OAKES, ANN MARIE – Peacefully at Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital, Petrolia, Ann Marie Oakes died on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at the age of 84. Loving and devoted sister of the late Mary Cathrine Oakes and the late Joseph William Oakes, Sarnia. Also survived by many cousins. She will be missed by her many close friends, especially Ursula Bryant and Helen Williams. Predeceased by her parents Bud & Margaret Oakes. Ann was a Registered Nurse and worked at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Sarnia, retiring in 1994. Ann was very spiritual and a life-long member of Our Lady of Mercy Church where she helped in many ministries within the church. Ann and Mary volunteered their time with many local charities. Ann and Mary travelled all over the world, as faithful fans of the seniors’ men’s rugby team of Sarnia. Ann spent the last few years living at Twin Lakes where she enjoyed the comradery of the fellow residents. The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and doctors at Bluewater Health Sarnia and Petrolia for their compassionate care of Ann. Cremation has taken place. Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Church at a later date followed by interment at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
