Obituary of Carol Anne Thomas
THOMAS, Carol (nee Clark) – Peacefully with family by her side, Carol Thomas died at Afton Park Place on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at the age of 73. Loving mother of Roy (Lori) Chapple, Petrolia and Tracey Chapple, Vancouver. Cherished grandmother of Ryan Chapple, Crystal Chapple and Chase Baker. Dear sister of Marilynne Heather (Gary), Sarnia. Special aunt of Carol (Bob) Fitzgeorge and Great Aunt to Alex (Joesy) Fitzgeorge & Adam Fitzgeorge, Great Great Aunt to Roman Fitzgeorge. Predeceased by her parents Gilbert & Hazel Clark and her infant sister Shirley Clark.
Carol worked at the Dominion Store in Sarnia and after moving to Innerkip, Ontario she worked at the LCBO in Woodstock. She worked and raised her family and always looked on the bright side of life. Even when she was diagnosed with MS over 30 years ago she did not let this stop her. The MS hit her hard just over 10 years ago which forced her to live in a nursing home. But Carol still continued to be always smiling and kind to everyone. Always thinking of others and seeing the bright side of life.
She loved her family and loved her nurses and support workers at Afton Park Place. They were her extended family who always looked out for her. Special thanks to Dr. Hall, Dr. Rudovics and to all of the nurses & staff at Bluewater health who saved her life many times and also to the nurses and staff at Afton who also lovingly cared for her.
Carol was a warrior and fought right to the end. She loved every moment in life even when she could not move and was in severe pain. She had great joy with just the little things in life. We will all miss her great spirit. In keeping with Carol’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of her life will take place at the Sarnia Yacht Club. Date still to be determined. Arrangements entrusted to The McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the MS Society, 420 East St. N., Sarnia, N7T 6Y5. Messages of condolence & memories may be left at www.mckenzieblundy.com
