So sad to see this, Gabrielle played a huge part in my recovery with my cocaine addiction & all of the depression that went with it. Gabby & I would spend hours on the phone talking about kids that suffered from addiction & mental health problems. Periodically, Gabrielle would call on me to talk about signs of drug use to parents that suspected their child was using drugs. Miles apart we managed to help a couple of people out which was a huge honor to me bc I didn't feel educated enough and I told her that. Gabrielle said "Oh but you are educated Queen even much more than I bc you have been through it and you can help others with your experience. Gabrielle always built me up & made me feel as though I had a purpose in my life I didn't like so much. My heart is so heavy just learning of Gabrielle's passing. I used to type in Portuguese until she finally said "WOW you speak Portuguese better than I do & I replied "Why of course I do Gabrielle bc I'm using Google Translate and we both cracked up with her saying well you little shit. I had so many great laughs, talks & even tears with this woman and I was so "Blessed" that she had so much faith in me more so than I've ever had in myself. One Sunday morning I was feeling extremely hopeless & I just wanted to give up & I came acrossed her page
StandUp Don't Give Up and I took a chance & left a message & within minutes Gabrielle was there for me. That was in 2012 if I'm not mistaken & I have been drug & alcohol-free since. ..God Bless You, Gabrielle...~Rest In Peace~
