Obituary of Catherine Therese Park

PARK, Catherine - Our family has lost a special Mother, Grandma, Great Grandma, Sister, Aunt and Friend on Sunday, October 27, 2019, when Catherine (Hurley) Park, of Sarnia, age 91, passed away peacefully at North Lambton Lodge, Forest. Catherine was born July 9, 1928 to Thomas & Dorothy (Seager) Hurley. Dear wife of the late Alvin (Gus) Park for 64 years. Much loved mother of Dianne (Sid) Orfus, Lynn (Rick) MacMillan, Paul (Christine) Park, John (Leslie) Park, Bob Park and Pat (Michele) Park. Cherished Grandmother of Justin (Tina), Melanie, Sarah, Erin (late Christian), Marissa, Christopher (Sal), Lindsay (Nick), Lauren (Sean), Jonathan (Aleigha), Braden, Hannah and Andrew. Great-grandmother of Madelyn, Carson, Azilynn, James, Cameron, Marlowe, Parker, Cleo and also countless nieces and nephews. Also survived by brother the Rev. Jack Hurley and sisters Mary Jane (late Mike) O'Reilly, Margaret (Ken) Greenaway and Nora (late Al) McDonell. Predeceased by her brother Fred (Mary) Hurley and sister Dorothy (Terry) Hobin. Catherine was a long serving member of the Catholic Women’s League at the former St. Peter’s Church. She lived at Fairwinds Lodge for 7 years prior to moving to North Lambton Lodge in 2015. Catherine was admired for her love of family and deep devotion to her faith. The family would like to thank the staff of North Lambton Lodge for the compassionate care given to our mother. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431. N. Christina St., Sarnia on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, 293 Stuart St. on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
