Obituary of Mary Vukobratic

VUKOBRATIC, Marica “Mary” – With her loving daughter and grandchildren by her side, Mary Vukobratic died peacefully at home, on Monday, October 21, 2019 at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Branko Vukobratic (1993).  Loving mother of Barbara Vukobratic.  Cherished Babi of Jenna Spratt & her husband Keaton & Ryan Prevost & his love  Shawnacee Loxton.  Proud great-Babi of baby girl Spratt.  Dear sister-in-law of Veko & his wife Barbara.  Also survived by many nieces.  Predeceased by her mother Barbara Subasic.  Mary was a loving, kind woman who put everyone before herself.  She was a strong, courageous woman with a gentle soul.  After her husband’s death, Mary knew she had to be strong to watch her family grow so she would one day share her stories with Branko. She loved her family and spending time with them gave her great joy.  Mary embarked on a tremendous journey with her husband when they left Croatia for Canada in 1956.  She worked alongside her husband to build a better life for themselves and their daughter.  Through all of their hard work and sacrifices Mary & Branko were able to help many members of their family & community. They were very philanthropic.  The life and love they shared will leave a lasting impression on their daughter and grandchildren.  The life lessons learned from them will forever guide them in their own lives.  She will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered forever. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431. N. Christina St., Sarnia  on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from 2-4p.m. & 7-9p.m. where prayers will be offered at 7 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Benedict’s Church on Thursday, October 24^th at 10 a.m.  Interment to follow at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.  As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice, 475 N.
