Obituary of Ernie Bonin

BONIN, Ernest – Ernie passed away on Friday, September 6, 2019 at the age of 77. Beloved husband of Lise Knapp-Bonin (Roussy). Dear father of Gisele Bonin-Savage (Steve), Sarnia, Maurice Bonin (Celisa), Tennessee and Maureen Bonin, San Louis Obispo, CA. Step-father of Michelle Knapp-Lamon (Scott), White Rock, B.C., Linda Raes (Michael), Sarnia and Melissa Knapp (Joshua), Toronto. Loving grandfather of Corey and Vanessa Savage, Annanias and Naomi Bonin, Amalia and Olivia Cisneros and Pepe to Matthew and Katrina Raes. Brother of Denis Bonin (Jane), Fr. Edouard Bonin, Sr. Lucille Bonin, Marina Foucart (John), Renald Bonin (Susan), Alain Bonin (Elise) and Laurence Schmidt (Mike) all of Manitoba. Brother-in-law of Wanda Bonin. Also surviving is the mother of his children Helen Fenk. Predeceased by parents John & Georgealine Bonin, brothers Roland and Lucien Bonin and sisters Yvette Freynet (late Leo), Aline Fournier and Lorraine Lambert. Ernie operated Bonin State Farm Insurance for 49½ years. Visitation at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Church on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow.
