Obituary of Anne Bukovinsky
BUKOVINSKY, Anne Dorothy – A beautiful brightly shining light faded away at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Monday, August 19th at 11:25 a.m. It is with profound sadness that the family of Anne Bukovinsky announce her peaceful passing. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Bukovinsky (1990). Loving mother of Terry (Rick) Cantrell, Fairfax, CA, the late Nancy Karrandjas (1998), Gerry Bukovinsky, Ancaster, Mary Jo (Dennis) Mather, Sarnia and Betty Ann Bukovinsky, Sarnia. Cherished grandmother of Marcy Pillai (Steven), Amy Karrandjas and Mark Karrandjas and Morgan Cantrell (Alex). Proud great-grandmother of Joseph & Sarah Pillai. Dear sister of Bert Marcy (Rose), Mooretown. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family. Predeceased by her parents Albert & Maria Marcy. and her sisters Margaret and Marie Di Federico (Moreno), her sister-in-law Mary Marcy, as well as her special friend Lucky the Duck. She was our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother but most of all she was our best friend and our life long pillar of strength. No matter what came her way her optimism shone through. There is nothing she wouldn’t do for any of us or anyone else in need. Her kind heart spread love everywhere she went. If anyone, anywhere did something for her the words “thank you” were spoken with genuine sincerity. Family, friends and even strangers were blessed by her huge smile. Even in the face of illness and adversity she had a smile for everyone. Anne was a devout Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church for over 60 years. She was a past president and member of the Catholic Woman’s League and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. Anne was a very caring and giving person. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels for over 30 years. Anne loved knitting, especially socks for all her family and cooking her Slovak favorites like cabbage rolls, haluski and pyrohy. She was an avid Blue Jays fan. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Lilly and the staff and volunteers at St. Joseph’s Hospice for their compassion and outstanding care of Anne. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, Thursday, August 22, 2019 from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, August 23rd at 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church.
