Obituary of Winnifred Stella Cassidy

CASSIDY, WINNIFRED STELLA (KING) passed away peacefully at home, in Sarnia, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, May 16, 2019, at the age of 87.  Dearly beloved wife of Gordon Cassidy (66 years). Loving and devoted mother of Joanne & Eric (2018), Chris & Scott, Will & Karen, Stephen & Barbara, Mary & Andy, Leslie & David, Elaine & Brian, Eleanor & Brian, Cynthia & Marty, Lorraine & Paul, Brian, Maureen & Scott, David & Deb and the late Colin (1987) Cherished grandmother to 44 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Sister of Wilma Pretty, Gary King, Ken King, Harold King and predeceased by 6 brothers and sisters.

Winn was best known for her unfailing love and devotion to family and God. She never shied away from helping those most in need. Her heart and home were always open to all. Mom found great joy in playing with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had an infectious smile that would light up any room. Her love for dad increased more and more each day of their life together and up to her last breath she held his hand.      

Visitation at McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.
