I happen to come across this obit. I know it’s been some time since but I had such fond memories from back in the mid to late 80s I spent a lot of time at the donohue residence. Bill was such a fun and funny guy who didn’t take things too seriously. My condolences to Tim and the entire Donohue family.

I was quite upset to hear of Bills passing. I’m sorry I was away on vacation, I would have loved to be there for him and pay my respects. Bill was a wonderful person, fellow Huron Oaks Golfer. No one could find the lost balls better than our Bill. No doubt in my mind Bill, you will be greatly missed.

It's funny how you think of people from the very first time you ever met them. I was six and a student in grade one at Our Lady of Mercy School when I first met Bill. He was in grade 7. We were out at recess and flipping trading cards or bottle caps in a game of "closeys to the wall," followed by a game of "topsys." Bill always traded me my bad cards for his good cards and often gave me more than I gave him. You never forget the older guys at school who were good to you and Bill was one of those guys. Truly one of those people you never forget and always have a good feeling when you think of him.

Bill was a great guy. I am proud to say we knew him I, Milly, was the last one to have a ride in the elevator with him as we both got on around 4:00 and he let me off on my floor and said his usual "keeping walking". He always encouraged me to keep walking after I had my stroke. Larry & I will miss him as he is taking another elevator ride to a peaceful place.

Bill was a wonderful man full of life and a great grin. You always wondered what incredibly intelligent issue he was contemplating or what was he up to! He had a life marriage to Vicki and he raised a beautiful, successful family who loved him, These are the testaments of a great man! Thinking of you all in this difficult time. Sending all our love.

On behalf of the Patterson family I would like to express our deepest sympathies to the Donahue family. My father (Ralph) considered Bill a very dear friend and treasured their time together on the golf course. I'm sure the two of them are sharing a cold one on the 19th hole in that great big golf course in the sky. Dad always loved Bill's great sense of humour and entertaining stories. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this very difficult time ... God bless.

Mrs. Donohue & family - please accept my deepest condolences. Due to work, I, unfortunately, will be unable to be at visitation.
Bill was a big supporter of mine this year in a few ways and I take pride in the fact that I was able to get to know Bill through our time on the "Bluewater Trails Committee" and at Ironworks Gym. He will be missed by many.

Well, I am sure I was the last female to ride on an elevator with Bill. The day he died we got on together and I got off at the 3rd floor and Bill continued his journey up to his beloved Vicky. I would never have believed that would be his last ride on our apartment elevator but he will be welcomed on the elevator to heaven with open arms. Bill was a great friend & neighbor. 351 London Road will miss your smiling face and quick humor. I promise I will keep walking Bill, like you told me, when I got off the elevator on my floor.

The Ward Family and the Donohue Family were connected in many ways but mostly by the Sarnia Yacht Club. We were always there in the Summer months and then saw them at our Ward Christmas party each year. Not to mention some shopping trips where clothing had to be readied to go across the bridge. Our most recent trip over was not so recent. 5 years ago my wife angie and I drove my dad to Vicki and Bill's 50th Anniversary party. It is a cherished memory and meant so much to my dad. He had a smile as wide as the St. Clair River for days. That was the type of family friends we have in the Donohues. Peace to Bill. Love to the entire family.
