Obituary of Giovanni Nicola Andali

ANDALI, Giovanni - With his loving family by his side, at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Giovanni Andali passed peacefully to meet his creator on Wednesday, October 24, 2018.  Beloved husband for 66 years of the late Rosa (Lopetrone), who passed December 2017.  Loving father of Gaetano (Liz Bednar), Joseph, Mary Spinnato and her husband Joseph, Laura Ferrera (Shaun Lockhart), John and his wife Lindsey. Cherished Nonno of Leanne (Sean), Jenine, Kristine (their mother Becky Andali), Justin (his wife Lisa) Andrew (Amanda), Jeremy (Karleen), Christopher, Jovan (his wife Laura), Daniel (his fiancée Taylor) Nicolas, Taylor (his fianceé Leila), Luca and Dante. Bisnonno of Leo Giovanni, Sophia Rose, Julian Joseph Paul and Mya Diane. Uncle to many nieces and nephews in Italy, France and Canada. Compari to many loyal and loving friends. Predeceased by his parents Gaetano & Maria (Martino) Andali and siblings, Rosa, Carmela, Giuseppe, Teresa and Antoinetta.

The only priority of Giovanni’s life was his family. He thrived on quality time spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was such a selfless man, always thinking of family first. He was not just the rock of our family he was the mountain. Born on January 14th, 1927 in the town of San Giovanni in Fiore, Cozenza, Italy. He met the love of his life at the age of 20, married in 1952 and departed for Canada in the spring of 1953. His bride and first born followed in May 1956. With many skills and talents he made a wonderful and successful life, with a lot of sacrifices and very hard work. Giovanni was a founding father of the Dante Club, the Italian Pensioners Club and the Bocciafila. He was very involved with the community. He was a man of integrity. Giovanni was a very charitable man. An inspiring example of his charity was helping many new immigrant families.  He will be greatly missed by everyone that knew and loved him.  We are forever grateful to Dr. David Kim and all the St. Joseph’s Hospice staff, caregivers, friends and family for their love and compassionate care for both of our parents.

Visitation will be at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, Sunday, October 28, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Matthew Bedard at Sacred Heart Church on Monday, October 29^th at 11 a.m. Entombment to follow at Our Lady of Mercy Mausoleum.  As an expression of sympathy and to honour Giovanni, please send memorial donations  to  St. Joseph’s Hospice, 475 N.
