Dear Fran and family,
I was sad to hear that Jack had died. Our bunch have fond memories of swimming in your pool, enjoying fellowship and fun with your gang. Jack's strong faith was an inspiration and served us all well.
Lots of love and massive hugs,
Sarah.

My best memory of my Uncle Jack was the time he and aunt Fran came to Calgary and we visited the PPCLI Museum. As a former soldier I believe we shared a special bond, just a little something only soldiers understand.
In the museum there is a mock up of the trenches in the Korean "Police Action" (WAR). I watched my uncles face change and quickly walk through the display. I thought, OK that was different. then we came to the PPCLI Memorial room and he stopped and looked at the names on the wall under the Korean section. a sadness came over his face as he looked at those names. He then proceeded to tell me the stories of several of those names. Who they were, where they were, what the weather was like that night or day and how that person passed. It was then I realized I was not a soldier like him at all. My respect and admiration for my uncle grew 1000 times that day, and he continued his fight for the rest of his life. Never giving up right to the very end.
Well uncle Jack, go to that better place you always talked about be with your friends and family once again. Your free of the physical and mental pain. Thank you for all you did for me and your family, we will all miss you! Love - Leo
