Obituary of Cynthia Cornelia Burlingham

BURLINGHAM, Cynthia Cornelia – After a courgageous 2½ year battle with cancer, Cynthia passed away peacefully and without pain at University Hospital on Monday, January 1, 2018 at the age of 58. She was surrounded by her adoring family when she passed. Beloved wife of 35 years of Vince Burlingham. Loving mother of Joe Burlingham (Charlene), Lacey Ceccacci (John) and Cory Burlingham (Catherine). Oma to Alessandra, Jackson, Levi, Luca and soon to be baby Ceccacci. Daughter of Jan & Leny van Tintelen. Sister of Marja Pavliscak (Erwin). Cynthia was a hairdresser in Sarnia for 35 years. She and her partners Kim and Evelyn operated Avenue Three Hair & Aesthetics for close to 20 years prior to her retirement. Cynthia's family would like to thank Dr. Dostaler, Dr. Yoshida, Dr. Lilly, Dr. Crombeen, Emelda from C.C.A.C. and all the nurses and staff of the Oncology and Palliative Care Units at Bluewater Health for the care and compassion shown to her over the last 2 years. Also a special thanks to University Hospital staff of 4 Medicine and MSICU for their efforts in helping Cynthia leave with dignity. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Saturday from 5-8 p.m. The memorial service will be held in the McKenzie & Blundy Chapel on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to St. Joseph's Hospice, 475 N.
