Obituary of Anne Marie Chrapko
CHRAPKO, Anne Marie - Anne passed away peacefully in her sleep at Afton Park Place on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the age of 86. She was born on February 27, 1931 in Korytne, Slovakia and came to Canada in 1937. Predeceased by husbands John Chrapko and Floyd Payne. Dear mother of the late John Chrapko, who died in infancy, Marianne & David Clift, Jerry & Ingrid Stevens, Lucy Lariviere-Tirey & Raymond Lariviere, Chuck & Carol Chrapko and Anastasia Chrapko. Loving grandmother of Rhiannon & Paul Mestancik, Allison Clift and Jack Clift, Jennifer & Jeff Fynn-Paul and Daniel & Ashley Stevens, Tonya Cianchette, Ryan and Melissa Tirey, Taylor and John Chrapko, Wolfgang Chrapko, Jessica, Samuel and Joseph Howell. Great-grandmother of Maia and Ilianna Mestancik, Ingo Griffin, Persephone and Patrick Fynn, Hank and Charlie Stevens, John and Luke Cianchette. Predeceased by her parents Louis & Mary Stefanka, sister Frances Bratanek and brother Rudy Stefanka. Anne was an entrepreneur. She was a founding partner of Chrapko Construction, Our Lady of Sorrows Junior Seminary (now Huron House Boys Home), Chrapko Nursing Home (now Vision Nursing Home), Twin Lakes subdivision, Floyd-Anne Realty and several more. Anne served the community by being past-president and 56 year member of the Catholic Women's League, a Girl Guide Leader and delivered for Meals on Wheels. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Entombment Lakeview Mausoleum.
