A tree has fallen and I mourn.
I have fond memories of Uncle Chuck--his quick wit, dry sense of humor, love of sailing, and spirit of adventure. Who else had the courage to not only take off for multi-day/multi-week sailing trips around the lakes each summer, but also agree to take five squirrelly children (all under the age of 10) to Disneyland and Universal Studios all in the same week over the winter holidays?
Though our families lived nearly on opposite ends of the continent, I always felt that Uncle Chuck, Aunt Marie, and their brood of three were close by, if not physically, then at least in spirit. I am grateful we gathered recently, but I lament the shortness of the visit. I can only hope Uncle Chuck knows how much he means to me. And to Scot, Ian, and Lynn, and each of your broods, I am so sorry for your loss. Please know Mom, Chris, and I are there in spirit. Love, Jenny
