Al, Donna and Laima:
I just learned that your mom died earlier this month. My deepest sympathies. She was the same age that our mom was when she died. She and your dad were both such delightful people and great neighbours. I can't tell you how many times in the last few years of her life, Mom talked about sitting in the back porch at our house with your mom and Phyllis Greenwood for late afternoon drinks and chats. They were such great memories for her. Take care all of you. Laima, so sorry for the loss of your husband.

I have so many fond memories from the mid60s when I was a frequent visitor at the Ceponis home! Your Mom and Dad were always very welcoming!
Even though your Mom had a long and full life, it is hard to say goodbye - my Mom has been gone for 27 years today ( Aug. 25, 1990) and I still miss her every day! Hold your family close, remember all the great times, cherish the memories and care for each other.
I am not able to be at the service today but would very much like to get together for coffee someday soon and share some stories.
My sincere condolences
Steve Marcy

What a beautiful, loving tribute you have published about our former neighbour, Mary!
Our family moved onto McMillen Parkway East in 1999, where we lived for 10 years with our 3 boys, the youngest of which was born there. Mary welcomed us to the neighbourhood with open arms and often remarked how happy she was to see the children playing in the park again, as it had been some time since a young family had lived on the parkway. Our youngest, Ayden, and I would go for visits with Mary or have her to ours for a chat and tea/coffee while his brothers were at school and his father at work. As he grew, he came to know her as "Biscuit Mary" because she was always pulling out a tin of yummy biscuits or chocolate when we were there and what child wouldn't love a kindly woman offering biscuits! My husband and I adored Mary's wit and spunk, and the fortitude with which she faced her declining health. Mary was always so proud to tell us about her history and her family and she revelled in sharing news of her grandchildren's latest accomplishments!
Regrettably, in need of more space for the lads we moved from the street after 10 years and as life became busier, sadly lost touch with Mary. That said, Mary left an indelible mark upon our family's hearts and we will forever remember her and her many kindnesses fondly as part of our family history on McMillen. Please accept our sincere condolences for your loss and our gratitude for sharing Mary with our family. Fair well in heaven, Mary. Love, Tanis, Glen, Ayden, Colin and Jake Wright

Dear family,. I remember your parents well at Sacred Heart through the 60's. They are truly the best meaning of immigrants to our country! Proud, hardworking people who made Canada better by their presence, and the legacy they left behind! Most sincerely. Liz Rice new White.

Your mother was such a big part of so many student's experiences at St. Pats. The obituary brought back so many memories of that time as well as our time spent at the Sarnia Tennis Club. Your mom was truly memorable. My sincerest condolences.

Your grandmother sounds like someone I would have liked as a friend. It sounds like she made a difference in so many lives. Part of her legacy is sharing in the life of such a wonderful granddaughter, she must have been so proud. Cherish all the beautiful memories and keep her in your heart forever.

To the Ceponis Family - So sorry to read about Mary's passing. I remember "Mrs. Ceponis" from my St. Pat's days and I also went to school with Laima at St. Pat's. But most recently I would see Mary and Marie at Vision Nursing Home on Thursdays for Coffee Time. It was a pleasure seeing her every Thursday, sending my sincere condolences. Martha

Summertime in the early sixties she’d often come across the street from where she was working at Sacred Heart School and have lunch with my mom Dorothy Prentice. Meanwhile, I’d be at her house with Donna (aka Camp Ceponis) swimming, playing duets on the piano, reading Ann Landers and “hanging out” (only we didn’t call it that in those days). Always felt very welcome in Mary’s house. Both she and Stan had very open hearts and an equally open home. I always felt very comfortable around them and they will always be a very fond memory of my early teen years. My heartfelt condolences to Al, Donna and Laima. Your success in life is a true tribute to both your parents.

To the family of Mary Ceponis: My sincere condolences. I remember both your parents very well. They were inspiring with their incredible work ethic. The thoughtful obituary captured Mary to a t, and I learned so much more about her life, which garnishes even further respect. I recall many years ago sitting around the staff room table and enjoying her frankness, her wisdom, and her humour. In all our dealings, she had the gift of making each of us feel special. Thank you, Mary. Rest in Peace.

To the Ceponis family
I am so sorry to read of the passing of your mother and grandmother. I remember her well from her days working at St. Pat's. She actually worked alongside my aunt Anita for several years too at St. Pat's. She was always a wonderful woman. May you all find strength in your faith and keep her alive in your memories.
God bless
