Obituary of Frank Dunn
DUNN, FRANCIS (FRANK) – Our sweet, loving Dad went to Heaven to be with his son, Mark, on July 15, 2017. Dad died at St. Joseph Hospice surrounded by the profound love of his family and the peaceful care of the staff. Beloved husband of Sally and loving father of Maureen Dunn (John ), Napanee, Judy Dunn-Keighan (Jon), Kitchener, Marilyn Galonski (Mark), Cobourg, Joanne Dunn, Sarnia, and Colleen Medeiros (Vic), Sarnia. Frank was a cherished Papa of Mark, Lisbeth (Kris), Randy (Jessie), Kayleigh (Greg), Jamey, Brooke (Josh), Anthony, Andrea, Beau, Brett and Ben. And great grandfather (Big Papa) of Maleigha, Madison, Keaton and Henrick. He was a special uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents John and Nora Dunn and siblings Lorne and Doug Dunn, Madge McKenna, Alice Ritchie, Edith MacFarlane, Iris Felger Margaret Manwaring and Doreen Harris. Dad was a pilot in the RCAF in WWII and for his 95th birthday was able to enjoy the experience of a flight on a two engine plane, similar to what he flew in the war. Dad enjoyed hunting and fishing and had a vast knowledge of the outdoors, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. With Mom at his side, he was happiest when preparing meals for family, friends and neighbours. There are so many people that Dad loved and appreciated. A special thank you to those who made his last years so enjoyable, particularly Robin and the Wellness staff at Landmark, along with the servers and the Front Staff; Deb’s regular visits and the caring, professional staff at St Joseph Hospice. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St N, Sarnia on Wednesday, July 19 from 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm. A Catholic Funeral Service will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, July 20 at 11:30 am, followed by a gathering of family and friends.
