Obituary of Antonio Serratore

SERRATORE, Antonio "Tony" – Peacefully surrounded by his family Antonio passed away at St. Joseph's Hospice on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of Angela for 70 years. Dear father of Joseph Serratore (Anna), Point Edward, Anna Serratore (Batista Frijia), Italy, Norina Dennis (Wayne Mayea), London, late Frank Serratore (1975) and Mary Serratore, Sarnia. Loving grandpa of Angela Simm (Mark), Joey Serratore (Krista), Sebastiano Frijia (Daniela), Elizabetta Frijia (Bruno), Angela Frijia (Domenico), Lisa MacDonald (Adam), Laura Dennis, Leah Dennis (Bryan Schenk), Ashley Marie Devereaux and Jenna Leigh Devereaux. Also surviving are 10 great-grandchildren. Brother of Rosina Serratore (late Antonino Gallo), Italy, Carmela Desensi (Pietro), London, Bruno Serratore (Maria), London. Also surviving are many nieces & nephews in Canada and Italy. Predeceased by parents Giuseppe & Anna Serratore, sister Caterina Serratore and brother Giovanni Serratore all of Italy. Antonio was retired from Labourers Union Local 1089. Tony's family would like to thank the Doctors, nurses and staffs of Bluewater Health 4th Floor, Palliative Care and St. Joseph's Hospice for the compassionate care given to him. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431. N. Christina St., Sarnia Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and on from Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Benedict's Church on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 10 a.m. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
