BATES, Robert Kenneth - At Bluewater Health on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of the late Pauline. Dear father of Kenneth Bates (Debbie Avrheart), Point Edward and son-in-law Mike Hughes. Grandfather of Dwayne O'Neil (Sherry Dugan), Windsor, Mike Bates (Jessikah McCormick), Cassie Bates (Chris McIntosh), Richard Hughes (Crystal Heimbecker) and Matthew Bates. Great-grandfather of Carly Rose and Brody Hughes, Emma, Trina, and Brayden Bates, Chaeli and Charlyse McIntosh, and Blain Hughes. Predeceased by son Robbie (1988) and daughter Wendy Hughes. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at the Point Edward Serviceman's Club on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. A private family service will be held at Resurrection Cemetery where Robert will be laid to rest beside his wife Pauline.
