Obituary of Dora Marie Chamberlain

CHAMBERLAIN, Dora Marie - Peacefully at Bluewater Health, Palliative Care, Dora Chamberlain died on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at the age of 87. Dora is the loving wife of Edmond Chamberlain for 67 years. Dear mother of Sharon Sugden and her husband Karl, Waterloo and Wayne Chamberlain and his wife Susan, Sarnia. She was the much loved Nanny to her four grandchildren of whom she was very proud - Shannon Dupuis and her husband TJ, Corunna; Jamie Chamberlain and his wife Katie, London; Jessica Huhn and her husband Daniel, Buchloe, Germany; and Erin Chamberlain, Toronto. Dora felt blessed to be the great-grandmother to six lovely boys - Dylan, Jace and Kyle Dupuis; Cohen and Jack Chamberlain; and Levi Huhn and was happily awaiting the arrival of her first great-granddaughter. Dora was the eldest daughter of the late Alexina and Edmund Lavigne and is survived by her sisters Beulah Dunford (Frank) and Noreen Boudreau, and her brothers Alyre and Lincoln Lavigne. She was predeceased by her brother Jerry Lavigne and her sister Eileen Quaid. Dora will be fondly remembered by many relatives in both Ontario and New Brunswick. Dora loved to reminisce about the good old days from her childhood growing up in Bathurst, New Brunswick and she found great pleasure in telling stories about friends and neighbours from the early days on Exmouth Street. Especially close to her heart was the Waring Family. Dora was known for her kind and thoughtful ways and she always shared a smile. She was a hard worker and very devoted to her children and grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Dora's life will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Church on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy friends who wish may send memorial donations to Ontario Deaf Foundation, 705 Briar Crescent, Milton, ON L9T 3Z7. Arrangements entrusted to the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE (519-344-3131).
