DIAS, Helder - Suddenly at home on Thursday, May 19, 2016, Helder Dias died at the age of 56. Loving father of Trevor and Nicholas Dias (Erika Hoeksma). Beloved son of Rufina & the late Armando (2011). Dear brother of Maria (Colin) Fairbairn, Fatima (Manuel) Mendonca and Suzanna Dias. Cherished uncle of Niel Fairbairn, Cassandra Michetti (Ryan), Amanda (Dave) Johnson, Justine Petronski (Tate) and Ryan Mendonca and great-uncle of Madden, Hadley & Lane Johnson and Landon & Hudson Michetti. Also survived by his aunts Emilia (Agustinho) Tavares and Celeste de Almeida & his uncle Celestino (Irma) Almeida and many cousins. Helder was a well respected mechanic for many years. He was an avid outdoors man who loved to snowmobile, fish and hunt. Helder was a family man first and foremost and he was not only a father but a friend to many. There wasn’t anything that Helder couldn’t fix and he would be the first person there to lend a hand. With a great sense of humour, which was contagious, he was always able to bring a smile to your face. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431. N. Christina St., Sarnia on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, Sarnia on Wednesday, May 25th., at 10:30 a.m. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. As an avid fisherman, Helder was a dedicated volunteer with the Bluewater Anglers. To honour his dedication, as an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to Bluewater Anglers, P.O. 174, Sarnia, N7T 7H9.
