AMARAL, ANTONIO, "TONY" - Surrounded by his family at St. Joseph's Hospice, Tony Amaral died peacefully on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the age of 77. Beloved husband of Connie for 49 years. Loving father of Elizabeth Law & her husband Bradley and Roberto Amaral & his wife Jaime, Sarnia. Cherished Vavo of Luke Downey, Anthony & Nathaniel Amaral and step-grandfather of Trisha & Maddie Law. Dear brother of Maria Pimental, Portugal, Berta Ferreira (Jose), and Gilberto Amaral (Ana) Massachusetts . Brother-in-law of Maria Pereira, Sarnia, Manuel Ferreira (Zenaida), Sarnia, Luisa Sousa (Luis) Massachusetts, Lourdes Moreira (Manuel), Sarnia and Joe Ferreira (Teresa) Montreal. Predeceased by his parents and his brothers Manuel & Joseph. Antonio worked for over 35 years as a labourer with Local 1089. He was a very proud Vavo and spending time with his family was his passion. Antonio loved to be around his home spending time in his garden. He will be lovingly remembered for his pride of family and his sense of humour. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Monique Dostaler and the Palliative team of Bluewater Health and Dr. Glen Maddison, the staff and volunteers of St. Joseph's Hospice. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 8, 2016 from 6-9 p.m. at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Stephen Marsh at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church on Monday, May 9th at 10:00a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy friends who wish may send memorial donations to St. Joseph's Hospice, 475 Christina St., Sarnia, N7T 5W3 (cheques only at the funeral home please).
