Obituary of Abilio Ortins

ORTINS, Abilio - With his family by his side, Abilio passed away at Bluewater Health on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Maria for 61 years. Dear father of Marie Chaves (Luis), Sarnia and Oriolando Ortins (Maria Fatima), St. Thomas. Loving Vovo to Jennifer Fazio (Anthony), Christopher Chaves and Jeremy Ortins. Great-vovo of Nathan and Benjamin Fazio. Predeceased by parents Manuel Antonio & Maria Arcencao Ortins Jr., brothers Jose and Manuel Ortins and sisters Maria Urbina Quadros, Mariazinha Bettencourt and Zulmira Ferreira. Abilio came to Canada with his wife and children from Graciosa, Azores, Portugal in 1966. He was a long time member of Carpenters Local 1256. Abilio dearly loved his family and spending time with them. He also had a great passion for gardening and caring for his fruit trees. Visitation will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 2 p.m. Entombment to follow at Resurrection Mausoleum.
