Obituary of Rita Mariette Georgette Burns

BURNS, Rita (Maltais) – At. L.H.S.C. University Campus on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the age of 83. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Burns (2002). Dear mother of Linda (Curtis) Palmatier, London, Kelly (Karen) Burns, Ladera Ranch, California, Karl (Angela) Burns, St. Clemente, California and Tim Burns, Milton. Loving grandmother of Zachary Palmatier, Robbie, Emma, Jimmy, Nick, Brandon, Kendra and Sterling Burns and April (Bret) Canning. Sister of Bob (late Carolyn) Maltais, North Carolina. Aunt of Dwaine (Amy) Maltais, North Carolina. Also survivng are several members of the Burns and Mullen families. Predeceased by parents Eugene & Alice Maltais and brother John Maltais. Rita was a long time resident of Courtright having operated Green Acre Country Kitchen in Mooretown for many years. She was a devoted grandma to her grandchildren whom she treasured deeply. Rita enjoyed spending time near and on the St. Clair River. She and Tom enjoyed their many trips to Florida over the years. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Friday from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the McKenzie & Blundy Chapel on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 11 a.m. and will be officiated by Deacon Lyle Lalonge. A family burial will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Corunna at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Huron House Boys Home, P.O.
