Obituary of John William Basham

BASHAM, John William - On September 22, 2015 at Twin Lakes Terrace, John William Basham died at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Hilda (nee Miller). Loving father of Wayne & his wife Marie, Lake Jackson, Texas, Brian & his wife Angela, Mississauga and Ian & his wife Gwendolin, Victoria, B.C. Cherished grandfather of Kevin, Frank, Joe, Elizabeth, Shawn, Eryn and Sheryn. Great-grandfather of Sarah. Dear brother of Margaret Gustafson & her husband Dennis, Saskatchewan. Predeceased by his parents Ernest & Jane Basham. John worked for Polysar for 41 years, retiring in 1990. He loved to travel worldwide doing volunteer work helping after natural disasters and helping those in need. John loved the outdoors, spending time gardening, working on his wood lot and volunteering at the Lambton United Church Centre and for Meals on Wheels. The funeral service will be held at Grace United Church on Monday, September 28th at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Brad Morrison officiating. Interment to follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
