Tony was a special friend......he and I would sit in his workshop and talk about engines and mechanical subjects that would bore most people to tears.....he was sharp, I mean that he could tell you the big end journal diameter of a triumph or the cam timing configuration of a bsa single off the top of his head.....he never lost any of that knowledge in his later years..always sharp...it was something tony was always very proud of, being such a good mechanic.
I will miss his company.....terry

I first got to meet Tony in late 1980's when I joined the CVMG, and very quickly learned if there was something I needed to know about anything to do with motorcycles Tony was the man to see. Being a tradesman myself I was quite amazed at some of the parts Tony could manufacture/fabricate with basic rudimentary tools, it was a pleasure to see him apply his superbly honed skills.
When meetings were held Tony was always very particular in the way things were done, and they had to be done correctly, or Tony was never to slow to let you know his opinion.
I watched Tony race on the road racing track, I watched him race on the ice, and his skill always amazed me.
I was so impressed with the quality and preparation of his equipment that I bought a couple of his bikes and raced them myself, and Tony was always there to offer any advice I needed.
Tony was a true gentleman, and will be missed by all the people whose lives he touched.

Came to Sarnia in 1978 and Tony safetied my '76 Bonneville in his Wyoming shop. Many, many good motorcycling conversations in the subsequent 4 decades. Visited his house many times for advice and parts. Tony always had a directness that was appreciate by all of us. I always thought he was too tough to die, but that's a measure of my respect for him.
