Obituary of Clifford Arthur Mutton

MUTTON, CLIFFORD ARTHUR died peacefully with his family at his side at Bluewater Health – Palliative Care on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Helen for 63 years. Loving father of Paul, Burnaby, David, Uxbridge and Barbara (Gary) Morris, St. Catharines. Dear brother-in-law of Dorothy Glover and Mary Mutton. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents the Rev. Herbert & Ruby Mutton, brothers Gerald and Elmer, brother-in-law Vaughan Glover and infant children Mary Louise, Ronald and Elaine. Cliff graduated from the University of Toronto in Arts in 1941 and in Chemical Engineering in 1948. He took a position at Polysar in Sarnia, in the same year, where he was employed until his retirement in 1982. Cliff was a very active member of Central United Church. He served on church boards, was a member of the Senior Choir for 58 years, and was a trustee. He served the community in several ways one of which was as president of the Lambton County Music Festival. Cliff was an avid golfer and a member of Huron Oaks Golf Club. He and Helen enjoyed many lovely trips together after their retirements. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Friends will be received at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Central United Church, (corner George & Brock Sts.), Sarnia officiated by the Rev. Gary Carruthers and the Rev. Dr. Don Lockett. A private family interment will have taken place at Lakeview Cemetery.
