KINCHSULAR, John Redmond “Jack” – At Bluewater Health – Palliative Care on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Ramona for 55 years. Dear father of Karen Knight, Calgary, Louise (Jamie) Ross, Forest, Brian (Brenda) Kinchsular, Flinton and John (Virginia) Kinchsular Jr., Sarnia, Loving grandfather of Krista and Ted Knight, Bernadette Ross (Dylan), Brandy (Ed) Bailey, David (Amanda) Ross and Evan Kinchsular. Great-grandfather of Jasmine and Nick. Brother of Will (Diane) Kinch, Vancouver, Helen (Ken) Whitehead, North Bay and Rose (Bill) Pettit, Delhi. Predeceased by parents Redmond & Flora Kinchsular and by sisters Marion Adolph and Jean Powney. Jack was a graduate of the University of Western Ontario earning an Honours Business Administration degree in 1952. He pursued a career in teaching commercial subjects and French for 26 years, retiring in 1987. During his career he served on committees as Secretary, Treasurer and Vice President for the OSSTF. Besides teaching, he enjoyed activities such as co-ordinating the Simpson Sears Collegiate Drama festival for twelve years, coaching soccer for nine years and other scholastic activities. Outside of work, Jack loved to sing and was a member of the Silvertones, the Corunna Choral, the International Symphony Choir and the Sacred Heart Church Choir throughout the years. He also enjoyed the bagpipes and he and three of his children joined the Forest Pipe Band. Jack also had a long career in the Army, from the cadets in 1942 (Guelph) to Captain in the Royal Canadian Artillery (Pieton) in 1957. This was followed by service with the Cadet Corps and Militia Service. Jack was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 62. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Len Desjardins at Sacred Heart Church on Monday at 11:30 a.m. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation, 774 London Rd., Sarnia, N7T 4Y1 or the Canadian Diabetes Association, 415 Exmouth St., Sarnia, N7T 8A4.
