Obituary of Albé Bourassa

BOURASSA, “Albé” Albert Joseph - At Bluewater Health, Palliative Care, on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, Albert died at the age of 84. Beloved husband of the late Tamara (2007) for 54 years. Loving father of Karin Meier, Peter (Michelle) Bourassa. Proud Opa of Michael (Margit), Daniel (Julie), Vanessa (Ray) and Jessica; and Great-Opa of Myah. Dear brother of Marcel (Pauline); and the late Allen (Madeleine). Predeceased by his parents Gedeon and Delores. Albert will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends. Albert was a member of the Boilermakers for 62 years and a member of the Knights of Columbus. His passion was the dulcimer, and he enjoyed teaching school children how to make and play them. He was an active member in the community and enjoyed dancing and bowling with friends. Visitation at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Terence Runstedler at St. Thomas Aquinas Church on Monday at 10:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Our Lady of Mercy Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations to Harmony, 251 Campbell St., Sarnia N7T 2H2 or to a charity of your choice, would be appreciated by the family. Messages of condolence & memories may be left at www.mckenzieblundy.com. “Adieu Albé…Goodbye Albert”. A tree will be planted in memory of Albert Bourassa in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest. Dedication service Sunday, September 19th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area.
