Obituary of Mary Magdalene McCaffrey

McCAFFREY, Mary (RN, BScN, BA, BEd) - In her 81st year, Mary passed away on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010 in Petrolia. She will be dearly missed by brother Eugene and Helen McCaffrey, sister Kathleen “Doddie” McCaffrey, and sister-in-law Lilianne and Stan Frankoski. Aunt Mimi will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and their children. Mary is predeceased by Irish immigrant parents Owen and Mary McCaffrey of Point Edward, and siblings Therese (Clarence) Lannan, Patrick, Margaret (Clyde) Freeman, and Joseph. Mary's career encompassed nursing at Sarnia General Hospital, Public Health nursing in Sudbury, secondary school teaching in Petrolia, and Nursing Education for over thirty years at Conestoga College in Stratford. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Fiddick’s Nursing Home in Petrolia for their care. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 7th at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Matthew Bedard officiating.
