CRACKNELL – At Trillium Villa Nursing Home, Sarnia on December 28, 2009, Phyllis May (McPherson) Cracknell, age 89, of Sarnia, formerly of Florence. Phyllis and her late husband James Cracknell (1995) were Rural Mail Couriers for Canada Post for many years in the Florence, Shetland and Bothwell areas. Born in Zone Township, she was the only child of the late David and Eliza Jane (Patrick) McPherson. Phyllis quickly adapted to life in a large family when she married into the Cracknell family of 15 children. Phyllis is survived by daughters Cheryl McKenzie (Grant), Sarnia, Evelyn Durnin (Mervyn), Exeter, Shirley Hardy (Bill), Sarnia, sons Dale (Joyce), Sarnia, and Orlo (Corrie), Winnipeg, Manitoba. Grandchildren Gillian McKenzie-Yorke (Robert), Kitchener, Darren McKenzie (Tiffany), Los Angeles, California, Scott McKenzie (Philippa), Sydney, Australia. Beth Anstett (Paul), Exeter, John Feeney (Ruth), Staffa, Lynn Wareing (Don), Exeter, Robert Cracknell, Kent Bridge, Tina Cracknell, Dresden, Chad (Kelly), Corunna, Jocelyn Robinson (Bruce), Lacey, James and Justin Cracknell, Sarnia, several great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law Rev. Lloyd Cracknell, London and Arthur Cracknell (Lenore), Thamesville. Friends will be received at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina Street N., Sarnia 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday, January 1, 2010, where the funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Donald Lockett at 11 am Saturday, January 2, 2010. Committal service, 1:30 pm Saturday at Fansher Cemetery, Euphemia Township. Reception to follow at St. Matthew’s Parish Hall, Florence.
