Obituary of Mary Jane Cassin

CASSIN, Mary Jane - Passed away with her family by her side at Bluewater Health, Palliative Care on Friday, October 9, 2009 at the age of 67 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Survived by her beloved husband James, daughter Tracy (Duffy) Windover, son Bill (Shirley) Brydges of Sarnia, and son Ed Brydges of Ridgetown. Sister and best friend Louise (David) McAleer, St. Lazare, PQ and their children Michael, Sean and Nancy. Loving brother Richard deLong, New York, N.Y. Also survived by her Brydges and Cassin stepchildren and many brothers and sisters-in-law. Mary Jane will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Allie, Mary, Becky, Nikki, Cole, Rachael, Mallory, JJ, Jake, Chad, Brett, Chris, Matthew, Gregory, Heather, Charlene, Curtis, Kyrie, Kieran, Keegan and Kelley. Mary Jane was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Church and served the St. Vincent de Paul, Eucharistic, Proclaiming and Funeral Lunch Ministries and volunteered with the Home Visiting Program of the V.O.N. She was a retiree of the Lambton-Kent District School Board. Special thanks to Dr. Lori Kolano for her primary care in Sarnia, Dr. Dar and Dr. Vincent at the London Regional Cancer Centre, and to all the staff at Bluewater Health, Palliative Care, for their compassionate care. Cremation has taken place. Visitation to be held at McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., on Wednesday, October 14 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Matthew Bedard at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church on Thursday at 10 a.m. Private family interment at Lakeview Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may make donation in Mary Jane’s Memory to Victorian Order of Nurses 1705 London Line, Sarnia, N7W 1B4, St. Joseph’s Hospice, 475 N.
