Obituary of George Joseph Gould

GOULD, George Joseph “Larry” – Passed away peacefully after a short illness on Sunday, October 4, 2009 in his 92nd year. Loving husband of Gerry (nee Whitcombe); father of the late Lynn (Alfred Simpson), the late Susan (David Hamm) and Peter (Carol); grandfather of Shawna (Bruce), Taynar (Melissa), Nicholas, Jennifer (Steve), Jessica, Michael, Jonathon (Jeannine), Matthew (Viktoria) and great-grandfather of Cameron, Matthew and Maya. George served in the RCAF, started Gould Paper Products, was a life member of the Sarnia Lion’s Club and a longtime member of Central United Church. He was a gentle, caring and hardworking man who inspired us all with his most wonderful sense of humour. We will miss him. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Friday, October 9th from 1-2 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Mary Anne MacFarlane officiating. As an expression of sympathy friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Sarnia-Lambton, Chris Dawson Centre, 420 East St., Sarnia N7T 6Y5. Dedication service Sunday, September 19th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area.
