ARTHURS, Marie Ange (Sauve) – At Bluewater Health – Mitton Site on Monday, August 31, 2009 in her 99th year. Beloved wife of the late Fred (1957). Dear mother of Peter Arthurs & his wife Judy, Sarnia, Patricia Foster & her husband Robert, Sarnia, Fred Arthurs & his wife Denyse, Sarnia and Stephen Arthurs & his wife Linda, Oakville. Loving grandmother of David (Susan) Arthurs, Mississauga, Paul (Jane) Arthurs, Sarnia, Jennifer (Darren) Murray, Sarnia, Christine Arthurs, Sarnia, Diane Foster (Dwayne Kinart), Sarnia, Mary Anne Foster, London, Jim (Tracy) Foster, London, Suzanne (Robert) Stevenson, Burlington, Michael (Gina) Arthurs, Lindsay, Julie (Debashis) Dey, Dubai, U.A.E., Mark Arthurs, Oakville and Stephanie Arthurs (Tyler Sheveluk), Milton. Great-grandmother of Jacob, Emma, Alisha, Benjamin, Claire, Lindsay, Lucas, Lauren, Brittany, Ethan, Alyssa, Olivia, Foster, Daniel, Vincenzo, Isabella, Domenic and Siddhartha. Sister-in-law of Kathleen Arthurs, Oakville and Alma Arthurs, Espanola. Marie was a teacher in the separate school system for 37 years. She was a vice-principal and principal at Our Lady of Mercy School. Marie was an active member of the O.E.C.T.A. at the local and provincial levels. She was a member of the Catholic Women’s League, a former member of the O.L.M. Parish Council, the Diocesan Council, a member of the board of directors of the Sarnia Lambton Children’s Aid Society, and a member of the St. Joseph’s Hospital Advisory Board. For many years, Marie volunteered at the gift shop at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N, Sarnia on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Matthew Bedard at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church on Thursday at 10 a.m. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Children’s Foundation, c/o The Children’s Aid Society, 161 Kendall St., Point Edward, N7V 4G6 or to the charity of your choice.
