Obituary of Maria Adelina Rodrigues

RODRIGUES, MARIA ADELINA – At Bluewater Health – Mitton Site on Sunday, August 2, 2009 at the age of 85. Beloved wife of 64 years of Silvester. Dear mother of Edgardo Rodrigues, London, Alda Bento, London, Joe Rodrigues & his wife Teresa, Corunna, Maria & her husband Lino Rodrigues, Sarnia and Tony Rodrigues & his partner Tammy, Toronto. Loving grandmother of Jennifer, Leslie, Robert, Fernando, Tina, Jody, Lisa, Joe, Natalie, Mark and Robert. Great-grandmother of Jacob, Jason, Eric, Tianna, Alehia, Kayla, Nadia, Madison, Michael, Luke, Emily, Hudson and Ryan. Also surviving are brother Joe DaSilva, London and sisters Marianna DaSilva, Sarnia and Olivia Lima, London and nieces and nephews. She will also be sadly missed by her coffee club friends. Maria was born in the Azores, Portugal and came to Sarnia with her husband and family 1968. Maria & Silvester truly enjoyed taking part in the activities at the Portuguese Canadian Club where they were active members. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Matthew Bedard at St. Benedict’s Church on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation, 714 London Rd., Sarnia, N7T 4Y1. A tree will be planted in memory of Adelina Rodrigues in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest. Dedication service Sunday, September 20th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area.
