Obituary of Dale Louise Boyd

BOYD, Dale Louise (nee Curtin) - Dale died peacefully at home in Sarnia on April 23, 2009 surrounded by her three children, Heather, Sarah, and Jeff. She is survived by Heather Boyd (Steve Watt), Sarah (Matt Hammond), Jeff Boyd, her mother Mary Curtin, her grandson Nathaniel, brother Donald Curtin (Merri), and nieces and nephew, Stephanie, Jennifer, and David. She was predeceased by her husband, Larry Boyd (1994). Dale was born in Sarnia, lived in Toronto and Richmond Hill, and attended the University of Western Ontario. She has lived in Sarnia for over 35 years. She worked as a life skills coordinator at Sarnia & District Children’s Treatment Centre. Dale was optimistic and fun-loving, and enjoyed her time with close friends. She loved golf, yoga, her garden, and summers spent in Tobermory and Bruce Beach. A celebration of her life will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 1 p.m. and will be officiated by Allan McKeown. Friends who wish may forward memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, 714 Lite St., Pt. Edward N7V 1A6 and Bluewater Health, Palliative Care, 89 Norman St., Sarnia N7T 6S3. A tree will be planted in memory of Dale Boyd in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest. Dedication service Sunday, September 20th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area.
