Obituary of Salvatore Calogero Valenti

VALENTI, SALVATORE – At Bluewater Health – Mitton Site, on Monday, January 5, 2009, Salvatore Calogero Valenti passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 73. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 45 years Angela. Dear father of Tony & his wife Teresa (Blayney) Valenti, Sarnia and Maria & her husband Rosario Muscedere, Bright’s Grove. Proud Nonno of Jason and Joshua Valenti and Angelica and Anna Muscedere. Brother of Angela & her husband Salvatore Grillo, Sicily and Giovanni & his wife Giuseppina Valenti, Sicily. Brother-in-law of Antonietta Valenti, Italy and Elena Morabito, Etobicoke. He will also be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Antonino & Maria Valenti, brother Andrea Valenti and brother-in-law Carmelo Morabito. Salvatore came to Canada from Sicily in 1963. He was a retired member of Labourer’s Local 1089. He was an active and proud member of the Knight’s of Columbus, Dante Club, Italian Pensioner’s Club, Dante Club Boccio Fila and the Madonna Del Rosario Society. He touched the lives of many through his friendships, generosity and will be greatly missed by his club members and friends. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Thursday, January 8 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where prayers will offered at 2:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Jim Higgins at St. Benedict’s Church on Friday at 10 a.m. Entombment Resurrection Mausoleum. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Bluewater Health Foundation – Cardiac Care Unit, 89 Norman St., Sarnia, N7T 6S3.
