ZNOTINS, STANISLAVS (STASIS) ALOIZS – Peacefully at Afton Place on Monday, November 24, 2008 with family at his side at the age of 90. Beloved husband of Mirdza. Loving father of Lucy Znotins, Bright’s Grove and Ruth Znotins (Michael Monette), Ottawa. Cherished grandfather of Richard and Nina Monette. Loyal brother of Anthony, New York. Dear uncle of Mary (Doug), Oakville, Sylvia (Brian), Ottawa, Andy (Mary Anne), Calgary, Monica (Doug), Toronto, Thomas (Sandra), Ottawa, Norbert (Natalia), Arizona and Arne (Gail), New York. Also surviving are many great nieces and nephews and their children. Predeceased by brother Kazimirs, Renfrew and sisters Helena, Anna and Monika all of Latvia. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Len Desjardins at Sacred Heart Church at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. Interment at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to St. Peter’s Seminary Foundation, 1040 Waterloo St. N., London, N6A 3Y1 or to the charity of their choice. A tree will be planted in memory of Stasis Znotins in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest. Dedication service Sunday, September 20th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area.
