Obituary of William John Irwin

IRWIN, WILLIAM JOHN (JACK) THOMAS – Peacefully surrounded by his family at Bluewater Health Palliative Care on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at the age of 76. Beloved husband of the late Bonnie (Babcock)(2006). Dear father of John & his wife Cheryl, Courtright, Debbie & her husband Roger Giffels, Sarnia, Tammy & her husband Ralph Fulkerson, Sarnia and Jeffery & his wife Sherry, London. Loving grandfather of Jennifer, Douglas, Rachel, Natasha, Brocke, Devon, Jace and Chelsea. Great-grandfather of Grace. Brother of Donna McGuire (late Gerry), Petrolia and Brian Irwin & his wife Pam, Dawn Twp. Special friend of Patricia Hillman. John retired from Bayer in 1991 after 38 years of service. He was a former councillor in St. Clair Twp. and was a member of the Brigden Optimists Club, the Royal Canadian Legion as well as being active in several other organizations. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N. on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. At Jack’s request cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to Bluewater Health – Palliative Care, 89 Norman St., Sarnia, N7T 6S3 A tree will be planted in memory of John Irwin in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest.
