CANNON, James Joseph – At Bluewater Health – Norman Site on Monday, October 27, 2008, James died at the age of 90. James was a resident at Afton Park Place for the past 4 ½ years. Beloved husband of Agnes (McInnis). Loving father of Audrey (Greg) Atkinson, Sarnia and Jim (Linda) Cannon, Bright, ON. Proud grandfather of Jeff (Laura) Stoudt, Sarnia, Derrick Cannon, Kitchener and Tom (Michelle) Cannon, Stratford and great-grandfather of Avery Stoudt. Dear brother of Andy Cannon, Sarnia, Gertrude (John) Watson, Sarnia and Joseph (Charlotte) Cannon, Florida. Brother-in-law of Jennie and Phyllis Cannon, Sarnia. James is predeceased by his granddaughter Joan Stoudt (1978), parents Lucy and John, brothers Louis, Stratton (Kay) and John Cannon, sister Rita (Ned) McDonald and sister-in-law Rita. James was an avid card player and enjoyed playing cards with many members of St. Benedict’s Church. He served with the R.C.A. from 1939-1945 with the P.E.I. Highlanders, Algonquin Regiment. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where prayers will offered at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Jim Higgins at St. Benedict’s Church on Friday at 10 a.m. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Little Sister Bursary at Lambton College in memory of Joan Stoudt, c/o Big Sisters of Sarnia Lambton, 230 Cromwell St., Sarnia N7T 3X7.
