MARTEL, Adeline (nee Turcotte) (Zayne) – At Bluewater Health, Norman Site, on Monday, October 6, 2008, Adeline died at the age of 88. Loving mother of Roger Martel, Frank (Danielle) Martel of Bonfield, and Diane (Ron) Lamarche; and step-mother of David (Ann) Zayne. Proud grandmother of Denise Lamarche (Dan Pontefract), Richard Lamarche, Suzanne (Chris) Percival, Stephanie (Les) Anger, Jean-Pierre (Nicole) Martel, Rene (Georgette) Martel and Mark (Lisa) Zayne. Adeline will be missed by her many great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Celina (Charles) White and Edgar Turcotte all of North Bay, and sister-in-law of Pauline Turcotte of Callander, Habib (Joyce) Zayne . Predeceased by her husbands Rolland Martel and Herbert Zayne, parents Camile and Alda, brothers Russell, Thomas, Ted, Joseph, Victor and Omer Turcotte, and sisters Lena Turcotte, Florence Guindon and Alice Mison. Adeline touched the lives of many as a foster parent and volunteer with the Sarnia Lambton Children’s Aid and her volunteer work with the Senior’s VIP. Adeline was a member of the Red Cross and a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 62. She also enjoyed teaching crafts in the schools and in her home, for Community Living, in Ford’s Hobby Shop and within her french community. Adeline was very active and enjoyed travelling, exercise, crafts and reading. She never missed an opportunity to try something new and was always wanting to learn. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Thursday, October 9th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Matthew Bedard at St. Thomas Aquinas Church on Friday at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
