Obituary of Charles Thomas Mooney

MOONEY, Charles Thomas – At Bluewater Health - Mitton Site on Sunday, July 6, 2008, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Betty (nee Jones) for 60 years. Loving father of John (Donna), Susan Cullis (Bob), David (Carole) and Robert (Terri). Proud grandfather of Craig, Paula, Jared, Aidan, Skyler, Chelsea, and Sarah. Dear brother of Marjorie Millington of Ridgetown. Predeceased by his parents and sisters Helen and Marion. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Charlie graduated from Queen’s University with B. Sc. in 1948. He came to Sarnia to work for Imperial Oil for 35 years as a chemical engineer and had been retired for 27 years. Charlie was a lifelong member of the Masonic Order (Tuscan Lodge). All his married life Charlie was very involved in Church work and the church choir. Also for several years he coordinated the Meals on Wheels program for Central United Church only giving that job up when Parkinson’s disease and dementia made it impossible for him to continue his volunteer work. Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 10, 2008 from 1-2 p.m. with service to follow officiated by Jeff Smith at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia. Cremation has taken place. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Inn of the Good Shephard, 115 John St., Sarnia, N7T 2R1, the Benevolent Fund of Central United Church, 220 George St., Sarnia, N7T 5V2 or the charity of your choice.
