McMENAMIN, JOSEPH – At Bluewater Health on Monday, June 23, 2008 at the age of 68. Dear brother of Michael & his wife Carol, Peter & his wife Eve, Brighid Malloy & her husband Jim, Marie McMenamin & her husband Joe, Bernadette McAlpine & her husband Gerard all of Scotland and Ann Gallagher, Donegal, Ireland. Sadly missed by his aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews in Canada, Ireland and the UK, including Peter & Janet McMenamin, Jackie McMenamin, Ed McMenamin, Colm Gallagher, John & Sue Gallagher and Ronan & Charlene O’Donnell, all of Sarnia. Predeceased by his parents Michael (2000) and Mary (2007). Joe came to Canada in 1966 and worked at Suncor and Octagon Engineering before retiring in 1996. He enjoyed golf and snooker, and made many trips across the Atlantic to visit family and friends in Glasgow and Ireland. He was a longtime parishioner at Sacred Heart Church. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Len Desjardins at Sacred Heart Church on Friday at 11:30 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the charity of your choice. A tree will be planted in memory of Joseph McMenamin in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest. Dedication service Sunday, September 21st, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area.
