Obituary of Walter Anthony Rupar

RUPAR, Walter Anthony – At Marshall Gowland Manor on Saturday, June 21, 2008. Beloved husband of Barbara (nee: Donohue). Loving father of Michael & his wife Jane, Marianne Ganter & her husband Ralph, Dianne Burns & her husband Peter and Christopher & his wife Theresa. Proud grandfather of Laura and Emma Rupar, Steven, Katherine and Andrew Ganter, Matthew, Carolyn and Kathleen Burns and Nicholas, Erika and Allison Rupar. Predeceased by parents Pauline & Anthony Rupar and brother Charles Rupar. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Walter served with the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II. Walter was a graduate of the University of Western Ontario in Chemistry and a life member of the Chemical Institute of Canada and long time parishioner of St. Benedict’s Church. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where prayers will offered at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Matthew Bedard at St. Benedict’s Church at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2008. Interment at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to St. Benedict’s Breakfast Program, 1011 Oak St., Sarnia, N7S 1J4 or the charity of your choice.
