Obituary of Paul Jean Romeo Courchene

COURCHENE, PAUL JEAN (BALDY) passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Trillium Villa on Friday, March 28, 2008 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of Charlotte (Vautour) and the late Simone. Dear father of the late Lorraine Mussio and Frances (Trixie) Collier. Father-in-law of Peter Mussio, Camlachie and Fran’s partner Randy Baxter, Sarnia. Very special grandfather to Paul (Cathy) Mussio, Grand Bend, John (Annette) Mussio, Alan (Jayne) Collier, Michelle (Lee) Pawley and Nicole (Rob) Sokol all of Sarnia. Great-grandfather of Emily and Daniel Mussio and Corey and Spencer Pawley. Brother of Fern (Muriel) Courchesne, Sudbury, Reina (Joe) Lilko, Milton, Andre (Jacqueline) Courchesne, Sarnia and Cecile (George) Langlois, Orleans. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Arthur & Clara (Morissette) Courchesne, brothers Herve and Robert Courchesne and sister-in-law Norene. Paul managed Murphy Tobacco in Sarnia for over 30 years. Because of his love for fishing and the outdoors he spent his retirement years in Tobermory on Dorcas Bay Rd. He was a veteran of W.W. II, stationed at the Alaskan border. Paul was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Royal Canadian Naval Association, the Point Edward Ex-Servicemen’s Association and the 1st Hussars W.O. & Sergeant’s Mess. At Paul’s request there will be no funeral home visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Matthew Bedard at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME (519-344-3131). As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to Kidney Foundation of Canada, 546 N. Christina St., Sarnia, N7T 5W6 or the Autism Society, 439 Palmerston St., Sarnia, N7T 3P4.
