Obituary of Mary Gagnon

GAGNON, Mary Theresa (Mino). November 5, 1930 - June 6, 2010. Peacefully at Bluewater Health – Mitton Site in her 80th year. Born on November 5, 1930 in Cibavo, Czechoslovakia. Devoted and loving wife of Larry Gagnon for 61 years. Cherished mother of six children and their families: Linda Vowles & fiancé Lloyd Pemberton, Cathy (John) Wigchert, Brenda (Martin) Hemstreet, Sue Brydges (Eric Sivell), Larry (Barb) Gagnon and Brian (Helen) Gagnon. Cherished grandmother to Julie (Lino) Aguiar, Kevin Hemstreet, Charlene (Jay) Ryan, Bill (Susan) Hemstreet, Sean (Amanda) Brydges, Ryan (Tara) Brydges, Brittany Morley, Melissa Smith, Jamie (Nikki) and Aaron Gagnon. Treasured great-grandmother of Brittany and Tamus Ryan and Benjamin Aguiar. She will be missed by her sisters Annie (Leo) Luciantonio, Liz (Wayne) Teft and brothers Joe (Pauline) Mino, Paul (Marion) Mino and John (Carol) Mino. Sister-in-law of Jean Galant, Collette Turner, Andre (Jeanine) Gagnon. Special aunt of numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was a member of the Catholic Women’s League of 46 years and was a volunteer at Bluewater Health Women’s Auxillary for 25 years. Visitation at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Matthew Bedard at St. Joseph’s Church (corner Stuart & Devine) on Thursday at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to Canadian Diabetes association, 415 Exmouth St., Sarnia, N7T 8A4 or the Alzheimer’s Society, 420 East St. N., Sarnia, N7T 6Y5. A tree will be planted in memory of Mary Gagnon in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest. Dedication service Sunday, September 19th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area.
