Obituary of Norris Allen Demeray

DEMERAY, Norris Allen – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Norris at Sumac Lodge on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at the age of 88.  Norris is survived by his wife Margaret (Peggy) Demeray and predeceased by his first wife Marie Demeray (1994).  Also survived by his son Norris Demeray, daughter Patricia MacDonald, four grand-daughters, one grandson, two great-grandchildren, his sister Noreen Turnbull and three nieces.  Predeceased by his parents Plenius and Alice and seventeen siblings.  Norris was a veteran of World War II, serving with the 26th Battery.  He was also a life member of the Point Edward Service Club and the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 62. Norris retired from Polysar as a crane operator in 1983.  Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Friday, February 11th from 7-9 p.m. where a Legion Service will be held at 7 p.m.  Private interment will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Mausoleum.  Friends are also invited to join the family in a Celebration of Norris’ life at the Point Edward Service Club on Friday, February 18th from 3-6 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society, 420 East. St. N., Suite 8, Sarnia  N7T 6Y5 or the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 774 London Rd., Sarnia  N7T 4Y1.
